Refurbishing an old trailer......

I've already planned to have the Jeep taillights on it. If someone has any more of that diamond plate they want to get rid of, I could do some rear corner armor to match the Jeep. Wink

You've got that right. An 8oz glass of those fermented grapes every evening, only for medicinal purposes though, don't ya see?. Laugh

I used to go to church with your boss, the owner of Staring Trailer Sales. I went to Briarhill Bapt. in Florence when I lived there.

Aren't they the same ones that have/used to have the truck dismantling company down on 55 south?

I believe they did around 1998 anyway. That's about when I was there. Ask them if that's when they were there. I was in the choir and sang solos quite often during the year or two I was there. Gene (I forget his last name) was the minister of music at that time.

Refurbishing an old trailer......
Update: I got the Jeep wheels sanded, primed and painted gloss black. I painted the center "Jeep" logo hubcaps chrome color. I picked up the axle yesterday afternoon from Staring Trailer, so this weekend I'm hoping to get the frame of the trailer sanded, primed and painted, and get the new axle assembly installed. The only thing I'll have left is going to require welding... and the welder I have bit the dust. Sad
I would love to go ahead and shorten the tongue, but then I'd have to duct tape it to the back of the Jeep to get it somewhere to weld on it so I probably should wait on that too. I'll post more pics as I get more done.

BTW... does anyone need an axle assembly off of an old trailer? See pics posted earlier in the thread.

More pics of what I did yesterday...

I got it in the air to start removing the old suspension, sand, prime and paint.

Got the suspension off.

First coat of primer...

Got the new suspension on and painted with a final coat of primer...

Got the finishing paint on the frame and the wheels on the ground...

I wanted to put these Jeep hub caps on but the spindle cap is too space occupying to accomodate the hub cap, so I'll either have to leave it off or cut the center out of the hub cap and allow the spindle to come on through.

I've still got to shorten the tongue, add corner post and add the 2 x 12 boards for the sides, paint the sides and tongue black to match and should be good to go.
