Alright, got a small update for you guys. Anyway, yesterday I missed going to monkey town so I could attend the MS Forge Council meeting at the AG museum. Well... they had a christmas party at a member's house in Canton, found that out once I already showed up at the AG and waited for almost an hour. Well, I brought my camera and got some pictures, they aren't that great, but I'm gonna share.

So I found out about the meeting being their annual Christmas party when I got home & checked the website, … Shoulda’ done that in the beginning.

So today I woke up a bit too early for a Sunday and decided to actually do something. I got some Flexiril from my dad for my shoulder. I’ve been able to work with only slight discomfort, but today I managed to do a little work outside.

That’s my newest project, it’s a gift for a police buddy of mine, he went out of his way to help me stay out of trouble as a kid. He really helped guide & steer me in the right direction over the years.

Either way, I’m going to turn this one into a drop point blade ( I like these if you haven’t noticed), and I was hoping you guy could tell me what kind of wood would make a good handle, I can’t afford to buy any micarta right now. But, all that firewood I have is different types of Oak. I asked my dad & he said “White, Red, & blackjack”. Now… I have no idea what the jeep blackjack is. But, I do have a lot of birch from my neighbors when they cut theirs down.

I know some of you fellas know wood much better than I do, gimme some pointers for types, finishes, lacquers, all that kinda stuff.

Well, I dunno about changing my user name. I just don't have many hobbies outside of this. I mean, I like guns & shooting, but I got my fill of that in the Army. Once you've fired an Abrams things get a little boring. I suppose after I make make myself a folded sword I'll get bored with this too. But, that's why I'm gonna be a machinist, keeps things interesting.
