Stephanie comes out on a study break to check on me. “Whatcha Dooin?”

“Me and the stripper are cleaning the camper.”

“Is she doing a good job?”

“Her knowledge of acrylic polymers is quite useful.”

Seriously though, the sides facing East (front) and south (passenger) did not hold up well. I used Zep floor stripper and a scotch bright pad to remove the Poli Glow. What you see in the picture above is polishing in progress with Maguires high-gloss polish with a little mineral oil mixed in. A trick I saw in a boat detailer’s video. I want to treat it with 303 protectant, then reapply the Poli Glow. The other sides look good should only need a cleaning and a fresh coat of Poli.

That's a tough finish to maintain, it seems. Props to you for keeping it looking fresh.

Not nearly enough people talk about the amount of upkeep a camper requires

It keeps them in shape.

This should be interesting...
So far, mine is holding up well with just a wash and wax once or twice a season.
Just bought a new battery for it. Planning to add a battery switch as well. Maybe put that where I can switch it from outside. If something were to start smoking, the first thing I'd want to do is exit the camper and THEN kill the power.

Yikes.

In our first month of having ours, I had to patch a hole in the front cap, fix a water leak, and repair a busted interior wood panel (poor construction). If one did not have a diy mindset, they would be far too much headache in my opinion

RE: Poli-Glow 2.0
If you ever get to tour a factory such as Forest River and see how they are mass produced, it will all make more sense why they are the way they are.
I learned volumes while deconstructing my donor camper. How they are built. Why it rotted in some places and not others. How little insulation it had.
There are national codes that have to be met, and those are typically adhered to. However, those are all based on fire prevention and safety. Nothing to do with build quality outside of the propane and electrical system, for the most part.

If you were to deconstruct your trailer and put it back together yourself, it would likely last many years longer.

I used to live in a 25' Prowler. I took the corner molding off and resealed it. Inspected the roof, etc. Fixed whatever I could find. That one held up pretty well, even to being lived in year round.

So remain diligent. It will pay off in the long run.
