So, last time we had the boat out, it started cutting out and couldn’t get it to open up and get on plane. I tracked that to a weak and failing high pressure pump. However, replacing the pump exposed another issue.
See the dent? (Fuel injector)
Cracked on the inside and leaking…
Any suggestions on a repair until I can find another housing?
If it's leaking gasoline, try J.B. Water Weld. It holds up to fuel. The regular stuff won't.
Doug used it on a motorcycle tank and it's still holding.
You might try putting it on a flat steel surface, like an anvil or a hitch receiver. Then use a flat-ended rod and a hammer to gently knock the dent out a bit. Just enough to tighten up the breaks.
Then the JB Water Weld.
I was wondering if there was a JB weld that could handle it. Not sure how hot that gets.
Fuel pressure is about 35 psi now. I suspect the pump’s been weak and was getting weaker till it couldn’t keep up any more.
The lower pressure kept it from leaking more than a drop or two.
