No water in that line, pressure conduit for exhaust pressure sensor in the EMM. The fitting has small orifices that allows the pressure to move but not gasses. Since the end was corroded off, hot exhaust was able to travel up enough to burn the hose. Luckily there is enough hose I can cut the end and put it back.

That hose is $50!! Believe it or not!

A boat will definitely fifty and hundred dollar you to death!

So, the real reason I pulled the covers off was to replace zip ties and worm clamps with the Oetiker clamps that Evinrude specifies.

That port labeled exhaust is the other end of the burnt hose.

Oetiker clamps.  Never knew what they were.

Me neither until reading the Evinrude service manual.

Filter screen in the fuel return line to the vapor separator tank.

At least it was intact and doing it’s job.

I finally got mine torn down to this point. Next, I have to remove the JB weld to expose the crack, and then drill a few small holes to measure the casting thickness. THEN I can order my "kit".

I'll try chipping it off, and then use a angle grinder with a sanding disk.  I've done it before.

Those reeds are the shizz!
