The inner passage is where the water comes up, fills the space around the exhaust passage before moving up to the engine. Then comes back down the outer passages and the exhaust. The discolored areas I believe indicate that water was crossing over and passing back out, bypassing the engine. A short-circuit, if you will.
I see what you're saying about the passages. Also, the bottom end of the old tube looks rough compared to the new.
You'll win this battle from the looks of it. It pays to be thorough.
Got the boat back today and it’s fixed!
Ran around Grand Bay and out to the west end of Dauphin Island. Temp stayed at 130 just like it’s supposed to.
Things they did:
1. Found debris in some water passages.
2. Put on a new updated pressure relief valve.
3. Put a new impeller in the water pump. Apparently the one I just installed was bad.
