Boat re-power project
Day 2 has the Yamaha officially divorced from the boat. It was too dark when we finished for pictures last night.

Good progress. Especially with how hot it's been.

BRP apparently does not want you taking the cowling apart.

That’s the last screw down there.

This is what I used to get it.

So, there was some discussion about what to do with the cowling. The paint wasn’t bad, just the clear coat had peeled.
Stephanie asked, “Can you use a stripper?”
“She won’t know any more about it than me.”
“Who?”
“The stripper.”
“Stop it.”

I’m glad that mounting brackets are apparently standardized. The holes lined up exactly with the existing transom bolts.

Rigging is done at the motor…

New Rebel 15.5X17 prop and Doel fins.

Having trouble feeding the harness up to the console.

IT LIVES!!!!

Finally got the harness to the console!

No pictures tonight because the underside of the helm is not very photogenic.

I wouldn’t say the Evinrude and Yamaha harnesses are married…..

More like shacking up…

An unholy union.

But the motor cranked and ran under the control of the boat’s helm.
