It’s a 2017 Rebel 500. He’s going to take the class this weekend. He decided to go ahead and buy the bike, as he was afraid it would be gone by the time he came back for it.

It looks like it's brand new.
Please make him buy leather. Jacket AND overpants. FULL helmet. They are cheap on sites like leatherup.com

Both of my boys have been down (hard) and both came out well due to the gear. There was no question.

Dustin broke his collarbone, but no road rash, and his full helmet took a hit that might otherwise have paralyzed or killed him.

Other than that, the key is to ride in traffic as if you are Harry Potter wearing the Cloak of Invisibility in a crowded room while avoiding being bumped into by people who cannot see you.

I say this all out of love for the boy, and it comes from true experience. Over 50 years of it.

He’s already invested in riding gear including a Shoei helmet.
And he’s in Slidell this weekend taking a riding class.

What motorcycles tires are those? Looking for similar tires on 4wheelonline. I also own a Rebel. Mine's a 2020 model.

They are Dunlop….
Beyond that I have no idea, I assume they are the OEM tires.
