OK? What am I looking at on the rear mount for the front leaf spring? Do you have better picture? I'm used to seeing the shackle on the front and pinned eye on the rear for most front leaf spring setups unless a shackle reversal modification has been done. Is shackle on rear of leaf spring, just a little hidden in the picture above? And is factory like that? A shackle on the rear is supposed to ride better.

That's the front cab mount I'm guessing you're looking at, you just can't see shackle because of pic angle. These Chevy trucks do have this basic front spring mount from factory - eyes in front & shackle in rear.

Exhaust work done this weekend.
Alot of mods on the crossmember that once held the swing-bearing for 2 piece driveshaft. It will be a 1 piece shaft this round so needed some clearance, but still wanted to keep something there for frame strength. Will finish with the tailpipes after the bed is set back on so can exit in the exact right place.

Alternator relocated in prep of Vintage Air a/c system & a spot on passenger side of motor for that compressor.
Floor cut out & high hump trans cover installed.
Firewall & cab bottom painted.
Cab set back on frame.
Some sheet metal hung, as mock-up to shim everything correctly.
SOOO much work to do but moving forward!

So many clever little touches in this build that will go unnoticed by so many once it is sewn up. But the people who know what they're looking at might slide underneath to have a better look. Those are the folks who make you proud that you pit the time in. Not to mention the things you've done to make it more serviceable.
Had to put bed together temporarily and set it on frame, to help decide about routing for fuel tank neck and align bed with cab & then those panels with radiator support & front fenders. All these panels will be on & off several times because so important everything in line since this will have full top & bottom trim.
Also got hydro boost stuff mounted & most of the brake hard lines run.
After much debate, I decided to go with some 17" wheels since new 16.5" tires are impossible to find (other than Swampers) . These TSL Swampers, I already have, are in great shape, but the reality is 60-65 mph is about max speed I'm comfortable running them at. I think tires & wheels are what makes or breaks the overall look of a vehicle, but in the end I think these new-to-me ones look pretty slick. So Facebook Marketplace for the win a set of nearly flawless H2 wheels found in Senatobia & then about 2 weeks later a set of 50+% tread, 315/70-17 Firestone Destination MT2 in Louisville. I was concerned that all this would look too small compared to the 36x14.5-16.5 TSLs, but there is really very little difference in width & height - I like 'em!
