Picked up this bandsaw today. Works great and was free. I won’t lie the frame is only .150 thick so a hard enough impact will twist it like a pretzel.

RE: 3B Project
Some CAD. I don't have any YJ leafs but I'm going to try to make something outta cardboard to get some sort of idea as to what sits where.
I don't think the angles are right but we'll soon find out.

RE: 3B Project
I'm an idiot for thinking something like this would work Lol
All I know about a yj spring is that it's 45" long and 2.5" wide. So I measured to 22.5 and left just a hair on each end to wrap around a pencil. The "shackle" is at about 37* and change in the picture.

RE: 3B Project
Got a fish plate done. I need some input on this. Corners rounded enough? Too many holes? (really wish I had a drill press) Cut with bandsaw, deburred with a file and angle grinder, drilled holes, did more deburring and tried to round off the sharp spots.

I can't quite tell where that goes, but as far as the plate, it looks like you're right on track.

One other major consideration with regard to Springs is the distance from the eye to the center bolt hole. They're not always equidistant from eye to eye.
If you have a particular length drive shaft and a particular axle location that you want, you'd better wait until you have the springs.
