Might could take some small alarm back up batteries and hook them together to make for a power source...they are rechargable and still in a 12v setup.

I could make up a 12v extension cord, too. Another 15' could make a big difference.

Years ago we ran a small tool shed converted into a deer camp cabin off of those batteries. You could charge your phone all night and also be able to run a couple of LED lights while getting ready for bed/morning hunt. They were recharged with a solar charger we mounted to the outside of the building. They held up great considering the load they would be put under sometimes.
