Here's an update.
I went back the following day, and he was happy with what he saw.
I wasn't so happy, because the "oil" he put in my eye to hold the retina in place makes everything blurry. The oil will be surgically removed at a later date, and replaced with a gas bubble. My body will absorb the gas bubble, and refill itself with aqueous humer (eyeball liquid). I will be pretty much blind in that eye during the recovery from the second operation until it fills with fluid. Then it should be clear again.
I go back to see him in another week or so, which will be four weeks after the operation. Hopefully he will tell me at that time when the second operation will be.
In the meantime, I am still a bit sore from the first operation. My eye is still bloodshot. Apparently, eyes take a while to heal. Who knew? I'm getting by with one good eye, and one blurry eye, but it throws off my depth perception. I drive, but leave extra room around me. I am not riding the motorcycle during this.
I have to sleep mostly face-down and on my right side. The main thing is that I don't sleep on my back. It has to do with the positioning of the oil pocket. To prevent sleeping on my back, I wear a backpack to bed. Don't laugh; it works like a charm. I call it my "nap"sack. (knap sack)
So please, keep me in your prayers. I am only about half way through this ordeal.
