Silverado2500 superduty axle swap and more

RE: Silverado2500 superduty axle swap and more
Meanwhile in the secret layer, I'm trying to get everything I need or think I'll need wired. I droped the old long top console down an I'm going to in fab up a switch plate on a newer model upper console.

The long old upper console.

New console with sheet metal cut out.

The plate will be black. It may have a some type of rubber hose gasket around the edge but nothing looks that great that I've tried.

Here is the switch lay out. The 2 toggles on the right will run my winch. The red cap toggle will supply power to the on off on toggle, that way the on off on toggle can't get bumped an mess up my winch cable. The other 6 will be:
-front aux lights
-rear aux lights
-amp on an off
And if anybody else has a suggestion I've got 3 more left

Got a little ahead of my self and painted an mounted the plate before the holes got drilled. Needless to say some of the switches got a little cattywampus.

Since the panel got a little messed up I finally talked my self into redoing the panel so I drew everything out flat.

Looks much better

That's all I have so far. I should get it finished up this week

Why did you decide to go with the short console? It looks like you could have done the same thing with the old console.

I'm not completely against using the old one, just thought the smaller one might have a cleaner look. I've always liked the small ones. I may do something cool with the other hole just not sure yet.

2 weeks later I've got a little to catch y'all up on.

New sheetmetal cutout. Primed.

[Image: DD88D1FF-F5D4-4182-9853-18178572162F_zpsdsahxybm.jpg]

Couple coats of semi gloss.

New one turns out much better!

I'm gonna be using CAT5e to signal from my switches to my auxiliary relay/fuse box.

[Image: 2700FD7E-39CA-4C59-9414-4AA58F0A86EC_zpsfxe5harw.jpg]

WIRING MOTOR/ TRANS BEGINS. The harness I got with the motor was for a van so all the wires were a tad bit longer. So I didn't have any slack I got a half ton harness from a friend and repined it.

[Image: BD2F826D-F162-4BEE-B638-4B57E5180034_zpsbngoiu2x.jpg]

Couple pins repined on the transmission plug. Couple repined on the PCM side. Then repurpose a couple unused wires for a new speed sensor since the 4l60 only has one sensor and my 4l80 has 2.

Here's a link for anyone needing to turn a 4l60e harness into a 4l80e harness. http://lt1swap.com/4l60e_4l80e_harness.htm

Got the harness in the truck this past weekend.

The old 4l80e transmission lines are on my 1/2 ton so I had to get new ones for this truck. Yesterday I got those in and installed

The list to get this thing running keeps getting longer and longer.Read
Radiator
Lines
Sensors
Power steering pump
And everything else

Last night I got a little done on my switch panel. Made sure the rubber was under the panel good and riveted it down.

[Image: 624B7255-C78D-4916-84E0-A506A3A674FB_zpsvloft0zy.jpg]

The rivets kept pulling through the back side of the plastic. I needed 1/8" washers to hold the rivet on the backside so being cheaper than washers I used pennies.

The Reserector speaks the truth everybody! Sometimes it does take a few pennies.

Got a few things bolted on yesterday, still a good bit to do but it's getting there. Still have to find a transmission cooler, get my manifolds on, clean my injectors/intake, figure out if I'm gonna run electric or clutch fan, before I can run it.

Here's a rim I've been looking at its not to over the top but still looks decent and reasonably priced. What do y'all think?

Here it is mounted to the same size tires I've got. Just to see how it looks.

Thought about those wheels for my wifes Jeep; like them a LOT. But a deal came up on another set that I just couldn't pass up so they are on hold for now.
