Another project
I have got my hands on a 1973 F-250 4x4 LWB.

I dont have the truck home yet but the few things i do know I have a few questions about.

It has a (running when parked) 390 big block with a 4 Speed trans with pto.

Dana 60 out back with drums.

Dana 44 with 8 lug outers and Drum Brakes.

The question is Can you convert the front brakes over to discs or am i stuck with drums?

How hard is a 390 ford to change over to electronic ignition instead of points?

The truck was a winch truck (Pto driven winch with a gin pole off the Flatbed) I dont get the flat bed and winch though.

I also have my 1979 Bronco that is shot Does anyone think an F-250 cab on a Bronco frame with a dana 60 out back and a dana 44 up front
and a 390 or 400 under the hood with either a C6 or a 4speed might be a good build?

you can convert the front to disk, you will need everything from the ball joints out for the conversion. I could be wrong but as far as I know ford only put the 351m/400 in the broncos and it will have a different bell housing pattern than the 390. look at www.summitracing.com for a one wire distributor for the 390. sounds like the 73 has potential. Could I use the Outer stuff off the 44 under the bronco?

I would like to fix the F-twofitty and lift it a little and just use it to mess around or build me a truck to pull stuff with.

I think a Bronco frame with a 250 cab with the 390 - 4 speed combo and 60 / 44 running gear would be a great project. Build a custom flat bed to put on it; full cage. Could be a very capable rig

I am going to have some Ford outers that you can have.
The D60 can be converted to disc with a bracket kit and a set of rotors and calipers. You can buy a whole conversion kit, or buy the brackets and source the rest locally.
