Ranger heater core
I just thought I would share this with everyone. Friday the heater core decided to start leaking. I picked up a new heater core friday afternoon and started taking my dash apart. Well to make a long story short. The whole dash, steering column, and heater box had to come out. I didn't take any pics of the disassembly, but I can say I would rather do another SAS than have to do the heater core again.

It took all day yesterday to get it to the point that I could remove the heater box. I planned on putting it back together today, then it started raining.

looks like that sucked. the ranger i had, had a little door that unscrewed on the bottom of the heater box so that the heater core could be removed. made putting in a heater core very easy. mine was a 94 model

I did one in my '96 Sonoma that was exactly like that....after getting it out, I went and bought one from the dealership and returned the one I bought from a local parts house. I never wanted to attempt that one again.

yeah the 91-94 models had the little door. That must have been nice, haha. In between the rain showers we had, I got the dash and steering column back in. So far I have about 9 hours in it. Andrew I should have taken the heater core I got back and gotten one from the dealer.

Thats a job. All the Fords around your year model ive ever worked on are just like that. My 98 chevy has a little door. And my 84 f-150 has a little door to. Im not sure on my ranger or my new truck.
