My C-200 LSD is in my R200. (Required some machining to make it work.) Update 12/17/13: The hardened axle spacer that keeps the rear axle shafts separated, had to be removed from the diff, heated and cooled slowly to soften it, then drilled and tapped to accept the bolt for the front stub-out on the side that has the bolt in it. I then reassembled it, and bolted that side together with an impact wrench before putting the other side together. That allowed my to shove a dowel against it to start the bolt and snug it up. It never came loose as long as I had it. When I did my SAS a couple years later, I sold the entire axle to a guy in Arizona who is still using it.

My R180 is out of the truck.
I plan to save time and money by using my existing spindles, hubs, brakes, etc., but the spindles will not work with the v6 CV axles. My solution is to make hybrid CV axles using the best of both worlds.
I may eventually go with all-v6 parts, but I am quickly running out of time and money.

With good weather, I should have it back together tomorrow.

The issue of clearance for the larger axle is no longer a mystery. I did not have to do a "diff drop" because I had already shimmed the left engine mount 3/8" higher to fix an earlier header clearance issue.
Beyond that, I did some measuring to check clearances and merely needed to grind away some of the cast-in gusset. This allowed ample room to clear the oil pan.

The hybrid half-shafts worked out well and it is all back together.
It has a different feel in 4wd, now. With the LSD in the front, it recenters itself and tracks straight with no driver input. It is not hard to steer, either. I think I am going to like this setup once I get time to do add friction discs to the rear LSD. It is a little on the weak side.

I did a little field testing. Wink
