Moab trails are under attack - zachcrosby - 16thSeptember2022 There’s a proposal to shut down a large majority of Moab trails to off-road use. There’s more info here and where we can send in comment. Public comment period is until Oct 7. https://www.rr4w.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Moab trails are under attack - Reserector - 17thSeptember2022 This stuff always makes me sick in the pit of my stomach. I fought to stop closures in DeSoto NF. They allowed public comment, but that was just to make it seem fair. They just did what they wanted anyway. I hope there's some money people and groups in moab who have genuine klout. The good thing is that (if I'm not mistaken) most of the trails aren't on BLM land. So, there is the justification. I would disagree, the town of Moab will suffer if they drive the off-roaders away. When we were there, we went into a local restaurant to eat. I mentioned to our waiter we were in town to ride some Jeep trails. I just got a blank look. He had no idea what I was talking about. I thought it was sad that he was so ignorant of his customer base. I noticed that the restrictions were requested by the county, which is another indication of the ignorance of the local residents. I agree that lodging objections is an exercise in futility, this is a done deal. Moab trails are under attack - Reserector - 18thSeptember2022 Since you mentioned "lodging", I would think that the hospitality segment would have the most at stake. Definitely not all, but a lot of good riding that we did while we were there a few years ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
