  Viking propane tanks.

My Viking fiberglass propane tanks were really expensive… for propane tanks anyway.
Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

Mine were manufactured in June of 2014, and were overdue for recertification.

Blossman declined because the outer casing is cracked.

So I emailed Viking hoping to buy new plastic coverings.

So after emailing pictures and a phone conversation, I was assured that it was just cosmetic and as long as the inner fiberglass tank was not damaged they are fine. We then discussed what to do next, this was their solution:

I narrowly missed a major wreck as it was unfolding. My FJR1300 vs two semi's going sideways into my lane.

The car behind me nearly collided with the little red pickup as the pickup was knocked off the road and onto its side.

All involved are pretty much ok, as far as I know. I stayed in touch with the pickup driver, and sent him the video.
