Suburban Family truck build.
As a few know, my lady and I are expecting a baby in Sept 18, making 4 kids between us.
Unfortunately, my K5 is just two cramped between people and camping gear and dogs. So the time has come to end my longest relationship I've had, 10 years of memories in the old girl and recycle all the good stuff into a bigger truck.

Introducing a 1991 GMC Suburban! I saw it on Facebook and kinda just watched it for weeks, then he lowered the price just as taxes came in and I picked it up.

Nothing to fancy, exactly what I wanted. It's a stripper model, with A/C.

I'm swapping the tbi injection on to the engine I put in the blazer last year, swapping the one tons in, with the 37's. Doing some suspension work and mounting up my bumpers.

Eventually I'll be building sliders and a rack on it.

Took a few final pictures of the old girl.

Pulled the 5.7 out of it.

Pushed the blazer down the yard and brought up the suburban and yanked the front clip off.

Engine in its new home.

[/quote]Pulled the Dana 60 and lift from the front of the blazer and swapped back in the stock setup.

Installed some center pin relocation plates on the front springs.

And installed the Dana 60 under the Suburban, also mounted my ported steering box, crossover, and hydro assist stuff. Axle is shifted one inch forward which will hopefully be enough to not have to hack the back of the fender off for clearance.

This week I'm hoping to fire the engine off and get the front sheet metal back on.

The rear is getting the shackle flip from the blazer and I'm putting 64" springs from a newer truck in it, along with my locked aam 10.5.

The plan is to have it ready to go by laurel expedition.

I like where this is going. Have you looked into the weight difference between the bodies? What’s the wheelbase difference?

That thing looks like the ultimate family haulerLaughing You gonna keep the auto from the suburban or swap in the 5 speed from the blazer?

It should have enough room. I'm going to keep the auto in it, I loved the the 5 speed but it is a pain in mobile traffic and I want Kristina to be able to drive it when she wants.

The blazer was pretty gutted out, no interior but seats, soft top and truck tailgate. So it was pretty light. Suburban is keeping a full interior, plus tons and bumpers so it is going to be a heavy rig.

Should be able to get away with minimal trimming to the back of the fender. Front is getting trimmed up to the bottom of the core support.

It should be there! Fuel pump works and I'll see if it fires in the morning. Biggest issue is the rear drive shaft right now. If the stock one reaches I'll swap the pinion from 1410 to 1350 and if it doesn't I need to find someone to lengthen my 1350 cv shaft and use it.
