Engine Replacement
A few weekends ago I took the time to swap out my engine in my Z71 that was damaged in LE8 due to an open air filter(cold air intake) allowing water to enter into my intake. This kind of put my truck in 'limp' mode for almost a full year. I took a few pictures during this process but haven't uploaded them yet. They will however be uploaded once I upload my photos from LE9. I performed this swap over the course of about 2.5 days and only used hand tools(no air or other power tools) and a floor jack and 2 jack stands. Engine crane was borrowed.

Once LE9 pics are uploaded this thread will be updated with photos as well.
Awesome!

So I replaced the engine in the Z71
This is the 2.5 day journey
This is Friday evening, first night of the journey. I removed the hood, intake manifold, and most of the accessories from the engine. Worked later into the night but still called it early to go see some live music.

No accessories left. Engine mounts are loose. Engine is ready to be removed.

The boom on the engine hoist wasn't long enough so some square tubing made for a nice extension.

Old engine out. This is the engine that was messed up from LE8. Those of you that were there know exactly what happened.
Those that weren't there, Basically I washed the cylinders before we even made it to camp.
This is the end of Saturday.
I called it a night knowing that I was halfway there with the engine sitting on the ground.

New engine sitting in the cradle and getting accustomed to its new home.

Engine back together and fired up on the first try. It was a long weekend and I had help from a couple of awesome friends.

Last but not least was the test drive with no hood; Cuz that's like my tradition.
Those on LE9 this year know how well it ran.

Mdawg it was a very busy weekend indeed. I was some kind of sore after the fact as well.
Yea it took a little while to post it. My son keeps be pretty busy about 110% of the time.
I forgot to mention during the pics that everyone who had a hand in doing the swap, labor or funds, signed the engine before installing it in the truck. Which I thought was a pretty cool touch.
Awesome!

RE: Engine Replacement
By the way, thanks for explaining how the injector connectors work. It was reassuring knowing I could call you, having just done that yourself.
