It gets even better folks!! Here is the second bumper I build for a 2002 Chevy Silverado. In my personal opinion I kick my self in the @$$ for not getting mine built this good.
Here is the truck prior to any modifications.
Tear down time I think there's a total of 12 bolts that hold the factory bumper on 6 on each side I'm not really sure it was back in August when I built it
As I did on my bumper I cut the factory bumper mounts off it's the only way to make it solid. How ever I did make actual mounting plates this time in which I cut 4 peices of quarter inch steel same size tacked them all together and drilled 4 holes in each corner. This way they'll all line up.
Here are some fab pics I got...sorry I didn't take many pics before the outer shell was on when I start building I just get carried away
Here is my buddy Bryan plasma cutting some peices out for me
An here is one more pic before I go to bed. This picture would have shown what all I had accomplished from Friday night to Saturday night. Here is the basic mock up of the bumper just tacked together
I'll try to get the rest of the pics posted up tommorrow so y'all can see it all done!!
Here we go again here are the corners where the bumper meets the fender...this is how I wanted to do mine an I just couldn't make it work but anyway this looks way better
And here it is with the winch holes drilled an winch mounted
And as the first weekend came to an end this is the shell spot welded out
Now the start of weekend number 2 of course trimming some gussets I sheared
This picture shows some of the braceing behind the bumper....I don't think I have a pic of the braces that run out to each wing though
And this is me cutting out the fog light holes...only action shot I get
On the foglight holes I took 4 1/2" pipe cut it to the angle the wings are at an welded er on for a slight sleeker look
Here I am sanding with a flap disk
And here is the sanded product
All sanded she was ready for a coat of primer
3 o'clock in the morning an 3 coats of paint later
Fog lights installed
I'm tryin to work here an your over there snoring
Here's the moment you've all been waiting for the finished product and after being 800 dollars richer I still honestly didn't charge enough
And the Warn 8274 sits beautifully in place
Hope yall enjoyed
