Grind the welds and re-weld the cracks and bubbles.
Do the rail and determine how high to put it.
Figure out how to attach it to the top.

Maybe weld nuts into the bottom of each leg, then drill through and bolt from underneath. No hardware showing that way.

Well, the legs have a threaded insert in the bottom. Intended for leveling.

The initial idea is to cut them to length( whatever that may be) and weld them to the bottom then come up thru the top with a bolt.

They should be plenty strong as they were holding the weight capacity of the rack.

My concern on that is the top not being strong enough to do that.
I want to attach it only to the fiberglass section.

Use fender washers on the inside to spread the load. Maybe on the outside, as well. If you use washers on both sides, use washers of slightly different diameter to avoid the "die-cutting" effect.

Ground the welds down today.
Definately have to re-weld. I already said I gots no welding skilz.

No pics till I make the welds purty.Confusedlut:
