picked up another project today. a 94 suzuki rm250. its in pretty good shape but gets water in the cylinder. i'm pretty sure its the head gasket since it has a whole new topend on it. but won't really know until i tear into it. has some nice addons on it such as a fmf gold series fatty pipe and a fmf pro-core silencer. needs a little tlc but should be pretty fun once i get her goin. the neighbors are really gonna like me Laughing [Image: 100_0969-1.jpg]
Now you're talkin'! Hyper
Do you have a place near you to ride? Please tell me that you wil at least wear a helmet. My gear has saved me so much pain and death over the years that I was riding and racing.
there are a few places to ride. plus the bethel trails in desoto nat. aren't too far away. and will definitely be wearing a helmet. i'm not planning on racing or even track riding. just trail riding
Nice ride just be careful!
turns out its not a 94 rm 250. its a 90 rmx250. i'm glad its a rmx instead of a rm. rmx is more of an enduro/trail bike where the rm is a motocross bike. would have rather it be a 94 but oh well.
Bigger tank, wider gear ratios, probably. Heavier flywheel to build torque is a possibility. Enduro bikes are generally better suiteed for recreation. Especially if they have a lighting coil and headlight.
yep. i know is has a heavier flywheel. not sure if the tank is bigger. and it does have a lighting coil too. supposedly good to 80w. but the light is gone. hopefully the gaskets will get here quick. i'm ready to ride
gaskets got here today. swapped in the new base and head gaskets and runs like a top. however it gets water in the oil as soon as you fill up the rads. and after topping off the water a few times it pushed oil/water up into the powervalve and out the pipe. so now i get to change the water pump seal. hopefully that is the only problem with it now.
There is alot to be said for the old air cooled bikes. I still have one tucked away.
get that thing out and get it tuned up. maybe we can get a ride up sometime in the future. there are some trails up your way in desoto nat. and 40-50 miles of trails down here north of woolmarket
