Yes I decided to improve those dim sealed beam contraptions that makes a Jeep a Jeep. Whether you prefer round or square, it can be an issue. Me..... I prefer round. So with that out of the way let's get started. I'm a HUGE fan of HID headlights. I've had them on my last 4 trucks. Did I mention that I really like HID headlights?.... Just checkin. So I had a set of 9000K HID's sitting in my garage. They came off my Tacoma before I sold it. What kind of headlights do the new Tacoma's use? H4! So now I have a starting point. I bought the H4 conversion kit for $70. With this upgrade gave me an opportunity to get something else out of the way. I know I've mentioned I like HID headlights, but have I mentioned I hate chrome on a 4x4?...... Especially a JEEP! So first to come out are the chrome headlight bezels. A little scotch guard and some elbow grease to rough up that chrome and now an acetone bath, followed by 3 coats of gloss black automotive paint. BAM! No more chrome! From this point I just removed those old dim nasty worthless sealed beam assemblies and replaced them with the H4 set-up I purchased from Quadratec. If you plan on doing this for your rig I do suggest getting a plug and play HID kit. No splicing or difficult wiring diagrams to follow. From here you just install the bulbs, route your wires to your ballast, and find a good spot to mount your ballast. So easy a cave man can do it! Remember to disconnect the battery before installing the HID kit. Those ballast put out some power. Reinstall headlight bezels and connect battery! Let's see what happens.............

This is a very inexpensive upgrade. I could've modified my sealed beams but I didn't want to risk moisture on the HID bulbs.
