I now work for a ranch called Silver Spur. Between Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico, they have about 20 ranches. The one I am on is called 3 Rivers. Im pretty much just a ranch hand, doing anything and everything. Right now, we have some where around 2000 head of cattle, and Im not sure how many acres. But I think it is around 2000 acers. The guy that was managing this particular ranch before, did not repair any fences for the last 6 yrs, so yes, I have alot of fencing to do. This is on top of all of the cattle that we have to move around, brand, doctor, and feed. And starting around the 15th of this month, we have about 1000 acers of hay to cut and bale. It will take about 2 months just to get all of our hay cut and put up. All of this is just on the ranch that Im on. We also have 6 trucks, and 4 tractors that have to be maintained, so for two days last week, I played machanic. The bad part about it, is that there is only my boss, myself, my wife, and one other guy on our ranch. So there is alot of work to be done. It makes the days go by fast though. If any of you hunters and fishermen out there need to get away for a trip, Silver spur also has a hunting and fishing guide service. Its called Spur outfitters. During hunting season, there are typically 1000 head of elk grazing in my front yard. And they stay there until it starts to warm up in late spring. So there is aton of elk, moose, and deer hunting in these parts.
