So appernetly the army needs help so they're recruiting AF. I tell you what if the economy wasn't so crappy I might be a civilian. CST= Combat Survival Training. I mean nothing against the army but I never wanted to be a ground pounder thus the whole I am in the AF thing.
Stay in man, only decent money i've made since i got out was overseas! I got out in March of 07, been overseas since cause good jobs at home are far and few! Stay where you're at for a while if you can!
yea, this kinda stuff wears on me nowas days. I mean back in the day I'd be all oer this. I just don't have the drive to be a ground pounder and the AF didn't need me to be. Crazy how stuff changes over the years
I dont blame you, i'd stay right where i am if i were you. Im about sick of being in china myself. Im working a deal now with caterpillar to go to Kandihar AFB, will let you know how that turns out. Only jobs out there for guys like us that pay, are right back overseas. Might as well stay where you are unless you're ready to deploy on the civilian side! This is the only way that i've found to make any money, only other option is be a door greeter at walmart?? Walmart would fire me when every person that walks in there would know that they're making china more powerful with every american dollar they spend inside! Stay in brother, get all the training you can while its free!
I reckon yer right. this trainin just seems that the army is showing us all they're crap and the AF acts like tourist cause airman have their camera's out takin pics like they never seen a military vehicle. They need to ask what the experience is out in the crowd like us folks that know all the **** and unless ya show me somethin new I will be uniterested. All my buddies that got out say the sme thing they go right back overseas, which isn't bad cause at least ya get rid of some of the bullpucky
Things are alot more simple on this side. But right now i wish i were still in for some more training, right now i need more formal technical training on my resume. Caterpillar asked me where i got all my training to do what i do, i told them anybody thats ever operated for a company without a field mechanic, you became the field mechanic......years of turning wrenches on my own machines and it still may not be good enough. Good luck to you over there, learn all you can!!
I noticed you were out on some site with backhoes in some pics you posted a few months ago, did you receive your "MOS" training at Fort Leonard Wood? I saw lots of airforce guys there for the equipment training when i was there.
Yea right now the only thing I am learnin is how to kill folks. I mean drivin an MRAP is cool and all but if I am going to be "outside the wire" I need more combt training than the crap they got here.
I totally agree! I was a 21B in the army, "Combat Engineer" so there isnt alot of jobs out there for me blowing stuff up or pulling the trigger. So i reclassed as a 21J "Equipment Operator". I also agree that you AirForce guys do need more training if you're gonna get outside the wire! Why in the world would they send you guys outside the wire anyways? Most all of the jobs going down out there aer done by Maries or Army??
apperently ARmy is running outta funds? Dunno so there we are in shindand bare base. ooo nite patrols. good times

Good luck! Remember to double tap.....ammo is free!
