How many channels, how much power, and how much $$$? US radio are highly limited due to government regulations.

http://jarex.sytes.net/cbvilnius/html/ae_4400.html

The key to this is that it is an FM radio not AM like our CBs. The quality difference between AM and FM is huge
Balage do you normally use FM or AM? Here it is AM or SSB and signal quality is very poor. If you want to transmit FM here you become an HAM radio operator (I did; KF5KEC) then the rules are different.
yes, the older AE4400 knew just the fm.Frankly is wasn't too big problem, cause 90% use this freq.
And maybe you know too, but here the 4x4=16 (Fm16) is the beloved chanel.

(Mike i see you edited your post, but maybe I answered to all.)
Just last weekend came back the Toyota after the front locker install.
Why was so long the rig-out? You won't guess..it's another bungler story.
When last summer the locker importer's buddy installed the stuff, I didn't know my present toyota master.(damn if I already had known this old mechanic..) I thought if the locker guy's friend install the truetrack in front, the warranty will ok.
Yes, when now we wanted to changed, the truetrack was ready, just anything else was over.

In short, the guy who installed the truetrack, didn't understand the repair of the solid axle. He turned out he has a precept. Every old solid axle soaking. To caulk that is an physical impossibility!!! Crazy

After 1,5 years, 8000km, 5-6 trips destroyed:
all (4) front wheel bearing
all(2) king bearing
both gasket kit (on outside of the ball)
the front left axle shaft
the front left cv joint
all (2) ball-type steering swivel
And of course the all gasket, seals. And rust in everything.

I phoned him. The answer: 1,5 year is too long time in a truck's life. He is not guilty. Sleepy

That's why I'm envy when Res, Sheep or anybody solve alone, install anything in his truck. That's clear work, and this is not.

Fortunetly I had some parts, but it wasn't a happy story.
Now I have a good front axle.

So it seems finding a mechanic you can trust is just as difficult, no matter what country of the world you live in.

Sorry for your troubles but glad to see the LC back on the road.

Thanks Mike
2-3 years ago we knew (or we just thought we knew)4 or 5 man who had title "Toyota4x4" or "4x4" mechanic.
In this moment just one mechanic in all country who hasn't got problems with the owners.
He is neither unerring, of course, just a 53 years old hand.
And very important, he is not a mechanic who revise some 4x4.
He use/used Toyota, Suzuki, Patrol etc. He really knows what you want in truck, and what the truck need.
