Either they don't make cars like they used to, or they are really getting good wood for those poles now. Remember when a real car used to hit a pole like that, the pole snapped and you walked around the car to see if there was any scratches/damage. Now, with the cars made out of plastic and aluminum, you see not a scratch on the pole, but you can't recognize the car. Angel
idiot you dont do that crap in a residential area, maybe darwin got him
That's a steel pole.. LOL
Guess it would be hard to snap a metal pole... Blush Still had a headache after that little bump.... if that person lived at all.
If I has to Guess, that would be an appropriate time to use the "F" word! Must of been one of those times when the driver was heard saying"Hold my BEER and watch this!" I bet it was some POOR little RICH kid whose MOMMY and DADDY bought them that SPECIAL car for their birthday or other special occassion, because they DESERVED it! In my line of work I see it all too often and wonder what kind of IDIOT buys their beloved child such a powerful vehicle, when the child has no experience driving a normal car! SORRY for the wrant guys!
Maybe it was a Pastor who fell asleep at the wheel because he had been up all night praying for world peace. Huh

Suicide?

There must be an article on it somewhere.

Rant accepted, Dan. When I was 14, I got my first car... a powerful 53 hp VW Beetle....Sleepy And I was pretty experienced at that time... I new where the floor was when I was in my mom's Delta 88 Olds 455 Big Block though. I'm just glad the caption didn't read that he/she ran through a school yard just before hitting the pole.

Would love to have read the article too, had I found one to go with it.
FOUND SOMETHING! BLOG

Quote:When I come across photos of accidents like these you can only hope nobody was injured to bad but the reality is somebody was either seriously hurt or they did not make it out. This is truly an amazing set a photos of a 2010 Camaro SS split in half and wrapped around a pole on what looks to be a residential street. What's even more amazing is the driver of this Camaro only came away with a scratch on his head. No details of the crash were posted but I expect high-speed was to blame along with the weather conditions. Check out the photos below and see what a 2010 Camaro SS looks like split in half.

Don't know if it's true yet. If you Google "2010 camaro split in half", you'll come up with lots of material.
I am not convinced by the "old cars were safer" argument.

Look at the dirt pouring out of the Bel Aire's rocker panel at the 1:00 mark. Laughing That car has lived in the desert all its life.
