I got a 302 Ford in my 84 F-150.
Im gonna be looking for a little more power out of my little v-8.
The motor only has 89k miles since 1984 so im not really wanting to bust it apart it runs to good.

Does a cam and a good 4bbl carb and a intake make some good lowend power.

Is there something else i could do to make it a little more powerful that i dont know about?

What cam and intake and carb would work good together?
Grind the air pump bump out of the exhaust ports.
A good low rise aluminum intake and carb, headers. A good ignition system is a must. If you are wanting to cam it, be sure you are looking at torque and not horsepower, just so you dont end up with a cam that builds most of the torque at top end. In my experience the RV/towing cams are good for low end torque.
I have had excellent results out of Holley's truck avenger and street avenger carbs. They come wet tested from the factory and usually require virtually no adjustment after installation. They cost a little more than the Edelbrocks, but the benefits are well worth it. The truck avenger series even runs at steeper angles than conventional carbs.
Holley truck avenger, decent intake, GT-40 cast iron heads, ford racing x303 cam, headers, complete msd ignition, and maybe a little spray!!! This made my old pickup grow wings!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys where would be the best place to get that stuff!
i use summit or jegs for performance stuff, you could also check ebay
jegs and ebay! But if ya buy heads, look for the original gt-40 not the gt-40p. The p come off a 5.0 explorer. the regular gt-40 come off a cobra or a lightning.
You can get an inexpensive intake (edelbrock or holley) and the Truck Avenger carb at Autozone, or any other major retail chain. That way you can return them locally if necessary, and they keep warranty records.
