Had to move the Jeep today. (it was in the way.)
First time I had cranked it in about two weeks.
Awful squealing from under the hood.
Alternator seized up.
Bummer.
Mine seems to be getting noisy lately. Maybe I need to give it some attention.
The alt in the wj has been whining some lately. Maybe it's like a yearly sinus infection for jeeps, only their alternators are affected
$122 for a remanufactured one. ugh!!!
Wow! That seems a bit pricey for a Jeep part. Is is a high amp unit? Like 80 amps or more?
It's a 117 amp unit.
From what I can tell, the stock one for my Jeep is 80.
And ALL Jeep parts are pricey!!
That explains it. Lifetime warranty, I hope.
For that kind of money it should buy you dinner and drinks frist.
I usually have better luck at a starter/alt shop than buying from a parts store.
