I know from first hand experience, that if you build a vehicle to get attention, you will. It may not be the kind you want, though.
When my truck was gray, I never got a second glance from police. Since the flame job, I have been pulled over for speeding a few times, even though I was not far over the speed limit. Certanly no faster than I always drove in those sections, but now I am "that guy". Once I got pulled over because I "looked like you were going rather fast". I strongly resented that accusation. He also thought that I was with the ricer just ahead of me.
The officers seem surprised when they see me. As if they expected a different profile. Go figure.
I have learned to adhere more closely to traffinc laws. It's either that, or repaint the truck.
Moral of the story: Be careful what you ask for; you might just get it. In your case, it is attention. You are flattered by their attention, which is at least part of the reason for having a scanner in your vehicle. This thread, in fact, is not to voice a compaint, but to flaunt your vanity.

Ignorance of the law does not make you immune from the law.
I would think that someone who is so determined to know everything that is going on around them that they video everything and have scanners going 24/7 would know their own state's laws.
8" max including lift from the tires being larger than stock, 6" suspension.
Yes, it is illegal to have your truck lifted that high. Honestly, there is no point in being lifted that much with tires that large unless you are in really deep mud (make it a trailer rig) or just trying to get attention. I agree with Res, you are only trying to get attention and your actions prove this.

You wanted attention,so you have done mods to your rig as to draw attention to yourself, some of your mods are illegal and can get you in lots of trouble! The so called knight rider lights on the front of your monster truck are illegal. The fact of the matter is that it is illegal for you to display any type red light on the front of your vehicle. Volunteer firefighters are allowed to run red lights, but the state law, states that no emergency light can be permanantly mounted. If the POLICE catch you running those lights while on public roads, you could be charged with a FELONY charge of impersonating a firefighter, or Law Enforcement officer. So all those so called COPS who you say pick on you, are only doing their jobs. Be thankful that none of them have charged you with a felony, and changed your life for ever!

Joey, if we didn't love you, we wouldn't be giving it to you straight. We would simply ignore you. These are pearls of wisdom. Accept them as they are meant.
