I have put together some trail rides here in southern Mississippi and would like to see some new faces at future events.
Here are pictures from this years rides: March 06 April 06
I have not scheduled the next ride yet, but in the meantime I would like to know who is interested in joining us.
We typically meet at the Busy Bee truck stop in Laurel at 9 AM and are done by 2PM. Here is where we ride:

These trails are suitable for stock or lifted 4x4 Nissans (or other brands) with A/T tread or better. My truck is stock on 33 inch M/Ts and does just fine. The trails are somewhat challenging. There are logs. There is mud. There are deep ruts. There is water. But most of all there is alot of pristine forest scenery to enjoy and respect. Bring the family.

I have decided to push my next scheduled trail ride back due to a busy personal schedule. I am thinking some time toward the end of July.
Me and my boys got out today and did some more scouting. I haven't BEGUN to piece it together yet, though.
I plan to put together a really easy ride this time. I like to see new wheelers like myself "runnin' what they brung". Sort of a meet and greet. Also an orientation to the area.

If you want in, post here.

Also, if you live near Laurel and can head out on short notice, let me know and I will post up the times that we will be out scouting trail (weekends). I would love to have another truck with me. PM a phone # in case things change at the last minute.
Count me in, I work 7/7 so I have off every other week. It takes me a little over 30 min to get to Laurel from Petal.

The Bronco II is basically stock, we installed a Dana35 out of a explorer with lockers in the front and explorer leafs in the rear. Future plans are 5.0 with a c4 and 8.8 in the rear. The lift and tires are going to be left up to the 13 year old and his budget.

Great! We could check out the area near Ovett. That would be a short trip for both of us.
I have been having cooling system problems lately. I don't know if I fixed it yet. If it runs hot on the way home today, I will most likely be wrenching this coming weekend. (I suspect the head gasket.) Otherwise, I will get out there one day this weekend. I will let you know, either way.
Sounds good, I will leave out thursday so wrench away.
If I go out, I will post up anyway. I'll catch you the next weekend, maybe.
dad i will have enough money for the stage 2 skyjacker 4" lift in two weeks.
I have dirt bikes, as well. Like everything I own, they are all at least 20years old. My favorite is the 1986 Maico (M-Star) 500XC. I refer to it as a mechanical laxitive. (It will scare the $#!% out of most guys who try to ride it.) Big Grin
I used to race enduro on the east coast. Knew a few notables including Mike Lafferty's Dad and older brother, Jack. Cool
I don't ride much anymore. Sad

Anyway, to get beck on-topic, I will probably not get out to the trails this weekend. I had to tear down the top end to fix a head gasket problem. Got lots of other improvements to make while I am at it. I should be out there next weekend, though. Anyone interested in checking out some trails next weekend?
Nismogone and Whatever (from the 4x4parts.com board) contacted me at the last minute about trail riding on the 4th of July.
We had a good time, but took it rather easy. We didn't want to break down or get stuck in heat like this.
We had chili dogs for lunch and cold watermelon on the trail.
We also got to see some no-wheel-drive vehicles.
Click here for the pictures. Cool Some of it is in DeSoto.
Who wants to do an easy trail ride on July 30th?
I will put together something shady. Low-risk terrain. I wouldn't want any break-downs or bad stucks in the heat of summer. I have to get out and wheel, though. Cool
As is usual, we can do lunch on the trail. Chili dogs were quick and easy last time. Maybe BLTs on toast? I am open to ideas, though.

I would love to do a night ride on a Saturday night when the days get shorter. Just thought I would toss that idea out there.
