I plan to do a night run Saturday night 5th followed by a day run on Sunday 6th.
The night run will be mildly challenging for stock or lightly modified small trucks or jeeps.
For the night run, we will meet at the Busy Bee truck stop in Laurel at 8:30 PM and should be done by 11 or 12 midnight. We will be running trails that are best suited to small rigs and jeeps because of a few narrow and low passages. Suitable for stock or lightly modified 4x4s.
This should be a fun experience in the dark.
The day run will be a piece of cake and suitable for most stock or lightly modded 4x4s or even 4x2s, with good clearance.
You can attend either or both. Bring the family.
Both runs will start at Busy Bee truck stop. (See map.)
From Interstate 59 (North or South), take exit 96B COOK AVE. to Highway 15 SOUTH. You will see BUSY BEE truck stop on the right within a 1/4 mile. It is a yellow sign.
For the day run, we will meet at the Busy Bee truck stop in Laurel at 9 AM and should be done by 2PM. We will have lunch on the trail. I will have a small grill and a stove. I will bring hot dogs , chili and rolls. Bring your own drinks, but no alcohol, please.
Feel free to bring something that you can throw on the grill or stove, for yourself or to share. I usually have canned stuff that I can heat up for the kids, as an example.
Folding chairs are a good idea, also.
Here are pictures from this years rides: March 06 April 06
Here is where we ride:
My aim is to put together a really easy ride this time. I like to see new wheelers like myself "runnin' what they brung". Sort of a meet and greet. Also an orientation to the area.
If you want in, post here.
Also, if you live near Laurel and can head out on short notice, let me know and I will post up the times that we will be out scouting trail (weekends). I would love to have another truck with me. PM a phone # in case things change at the last minute.
This run will be perfect for novices. A good introduction to trail riding in a 4x4.
For the experienced, it will be an oportunity to ride in a new area and get out wheeling.
