not real sure on that tabor deal though, is that really made by warn?

That seems like a good deal. I think maybe Warn has purchased this brand name, but not building it. I dont know.

warn 8274 is hands down one of the best winches ever made. they are one of the fastest and i'd be willing to bet it will outpull any of those chinese 12k. if you want a cheap one get the harbor freight winch. at least that way if it breaks you can take it back and not have to deal with internet dealings and ebay.

i know a guy here in booneville that has an 8274 for $400.00 i'd like to have it but a boat is higher on the list for me

i think i'd make that 8274 alittle higher on the list...
my truck is not light at all and my winch has never even seemed like it wanted to give up (ask redneck, meanbgreen, or whino about when i was buried behind the grande theater...). even with ONE wrap of line around the drum it'll pull my fat a$$ out of everything i've put my truck through. in my book it is the best winch you could get (if you don't mind how large it is)
i might just be bias though

i'd have to agree with you there nathan. 8274 is a beast. and is fast and holds more line than any other. and if you ever get in a situation where it struggles then stick a snatch block on the line.
