IÂ’ve got a buddy looking at buying a 95 YJ, but 3rd gear is gone. How much will this cost to fix or how much will a used 5spd cost him? Any one have one that would fit?

sounds like a snap ring. what does it do when shifted into 3rd? I would use this as a big bargining tool to get it at a better price.

That is why he is trying to buy it, cheap... 99% of the time it will not go into 3rd, if you get it in it will pop out.

If its a AX-5 could be countershaft. When I tore Reverse out third gear went with it. I found one on ebay for 250. After I tore reverse out again I welded some teeth back on and traded it in!
If anyone has one that they want to get rid of let me know.
I have a '92 y-j wrangler 5 speed transmission I will sell for $500 plus shipping , it has about 90 thousand miles on it according to my odometer.
I spent about 1500 and 2 1/2 months on a exchange from Phoenix Hard Parts. I will use a local shop next time.
