i got a flier from some place that does dsl through a antenna, they said it was around $300 for install and $49 a month after that. it's still cheaper than satelite...

You can get 3G wireless cards for desktops and laptops through at&t wireless. Faster than dsl. My friend just disconnected his dsl and got a 3G wireless card through them and the service is only about $60/month.

do you have to get cell service for that to work? i don't have any cell phone service and neither does my buddy or his wife...
i think the $60 a month covers all you need.
yup. my friend that just got it actually has his cell service through another provider. you do have to have a good signal at that location, though, if that's what you mean.
Back when I lived in the deep woods I was checking into wildblue. I've heard good things about it. Never had, moved to the city.

yep, i have poor cell service in the area, not just through my provider
that would be too easy, haha
maybe when my wife gets back from kuwait i'll move somewhere that's easier
