I picked up my burb from the shop on Saterday. Keep in mind now that the shop is in Laramie Wy. Its about a 65 mile trip one way. Appearently, a car dealership has bought the building that the machanic was in. So the dealership desided to paint the building. In the meantime they managed to get overspray all over my burb. Im not talking about alittle. It is all over the roof, hood, doors, grill, back, windows, and my new wheels. Now for the question. How much do any of you paint and body guys think that it would cost to clean this off. Or do you think it would be cheaper to repaint the whole truck? Now there will still be some extencive cleaning involved. They will still have to clean the wheels, all of the chrome, and all of the body molding. I have turned this into my insurance for them to deal with, but there is not body shop within about an 1 1/2 -2hr drive.
Let me know what you guys think.
In most cases, clay bar will remove it without harming the paint. It is labor-intensive. Several care-care manufacturers make it. Mothers comes to mind.
Nismo_Trukr probably knows all about it.
Yah, I am aware of the clay bar. The Dealership has offered to pay me $200 to cover the repair, but I dont think that $200 would not even come close to the cost of labor to clean it all off. And I dont have the time to do it. And why should I. They were the ones that messed it up. And would the clay bar take off an oil based paint used to paint metal buildings?
Easy-Off Oven Cleaner probably will. Not the "no fume" whimpy crap.
Spray it on, let it sit, sponge it loose, wash it off. Keep the remaining $178.

You would have to try it on a discreet place first, of course.
A pressure washer helps, too. Do small areas (2' x 2') at a time so it doesn't dry on the surface.
Im going to have to buy another MS mud sticker. I will have to take a blade to my windshield.
Oh, they've gone TOO FAR, there!!!
That's BLASPHEMY!
Im tellin ya, that was just wrong. Now they are just messin with my MS Mud rep. LOL
