If you come Jackson, come armed and alert, the theives are looking for you, cops are busy avoiding the theives and that leaves you all alone.

It is 100 percent legal to have a concealed pistol in your vehicle.(If you are over 21) Any weapon that is legal to have in your home can be in your vehicle.( A minor can have a loaded longun or shotgun in vehicle)
MS Castle Law-Residents of Mississippi have the right to use dreadly force to protect themselves, their home / place of work and belongings.
It has been argued that this makes the concealed carry permit void? If I have the right to use a gun to stop from getting robbed at gunpoint doesn't that mean ,i have the right to be able to carry that means?

Sparky

I called the sherrif's office in monticello a couple years ago, and they told me that your vehicle was an extension of your home and it was ok to have one in your vehicle. I make sure if i get pulled over i tell them where it is. It might make the officer feel a litle easier on comming to the window. But there are several law enforcement officials on here and they can tell you for sure.
I believe the only exception to that is the Natchez Trace Parkway. I read that on a state map once.

Edit: Yep. Just read it on the official state map. Cannot be carried on your person, but may be in the vehicle and loaded. On the Trace, it must be unloaded, with the ammo in a separate compartment of the vehicle.
Natches trace is probably the nicest thing in MS ive seen yet. i took almost the full trace a few weeks ago, beautiful.
was on it last weekend checking out the reservoir. cant wait to go fishing in there! since i wasnt sure i have been leaving my handgun in the back of the truck. i dont think many DECENT cops could argue with a generally law-biding person having a loaded gun in a secured holster, in a zipped up container, in the bed of a truck in a locked topper. not exacly "readily accessible". But if its cool then i'll go back to keeping it in the truck but still in a secured holster, in a zipped container and not in general reach.

Oh and florida has the castle doctrine too, its a great thing!

you and me both, i grew up here and it does not bother me. got held up when i was 17 working at Video Library, had guns pointed at me at wendys for talking too loud, you get used to the crap. jpd BLOWS.

A buddy of mine had just pulled through the drive through at wendys when a guy came up to his window with a gun, hopped in the back seat and told him to drive. The guy led him to his house where a crew of thugs stripped his stereo, seats, brush guard, winch, etc. They got him to drive back sitting on a crate to an empty parking lot and took his keys and left him. He got the address to the house and they never did anything. its ridiculous. I would not even call them in an emergency. no hope in them coming.

That being said, I pack heat in every one of my vehicles as well as tactical shotguns and pistols throughout my house.
HE)) yea fire cop. i dont have a card, but if i leave my house anywhere but work, Im totan my .40
