Your front bumper is frowning.
and your passenger side rocker panel looks a little angry, too.
Interesting (to me) to hunt the similarity things of the thai and the US ranger.
The differerents are conspicouos.
Installed a new CB antenna ball mount and rewired it. I’ve been without an antenna since I installed my new rear bumper a couple of weeks ago. The old mount didn’t fit with the new bumper in place so I had to move it.
Ball mounts are pretty rugged. Did you use a spring, also?
The higher you mount it, the better. The upper hinge on the tailgate, or something along those lines works well on Jeeps. The key is to avoid running the antenna next to the body. Doing so influences the direction of the signal and can cause a squeal when you transmit.

Because of the way my tire swing mounts and the fact that I didn't want to mount the ball on the side of the Jeep because it seemed like too much of a catch all there; I had to mount a little left of center on the tailgate. I used an existing hole for the actual antenna stud so I only had to drill 3 small holes for the mounting plate. It's in the upper third of the tailgate and I did use a spring; even though I don't really like them; so I won't have an groundplane issues. Although I may go ahead and better ground the tailgate just for good measure. I'm running a 4 foot firestik right now but will probably switch to a 9 foot whip eventually. Back in the '80s I used to be a CB bench tech. I've done my share of installs and peak N tunes etc.
I've done my share of radio work also. It was a big hobby for me. Still have my 400 watt base station linier. I never set it back up when I moved here about 15 years ago. It was fun when I was into it. Met alot of good folks that way; and a lot of jerks.
I agree that springs are not beneficial to performance, but they are a must have for trail riding.
You won't have a ground plane issue because you have no ground plane. Only a director that may or may not be at an even division of 11 meters. The only ground plane you have is your hood.
:j/k: Let's see some pics. You know the rules.

stick with the firestick. whips can be dangerous to bystanders on the trail
The truck got a new cb with firestick antenna.
The jeep is off getting ready for easter jeep safari. It just got done today. It got the mini spool in the front axle replaced with a detroit trutrack locker, got the spare tire carrier built and installed, spare tire mounted on new wheel then mounted on the carrier. Got the running lights and dash lights working again, heat shield for the exhaust made and installed. Got the new firestick antenna mounted. Installed new struts for the rear hatch. Bought and installed 4 d ring clevises for tow points. And last but not least, got my winch ordered last thursday, should be here tomorrow. And got my lights and ms mud stickers that I ordered from Res, on monday.
