Knowing that I am the national poster boy for Murphy's law, I exchanged both batteries (BTW Walmart exchanged both 2 1/2 year old batteries for FREE...Good on them) I hooked up in my own fashion and cranked, worked like a charm except that the little red battery icon on the dash lighted (much the same as no output from alternator?) Gauge itself shows charge.....looked again and discovered this wire, white with a blue female fitting on the end....

anybody able to help an addled old bastiage solve this mystery?

pete in the pic look in the hole below your main plug and you should see the male plug it wants to mate with bout a halfinch toward the bottom
