I am trying to get an insert for my receiver hitch that will hold a D ring shackle or I think they are also called a clevis shackle. I have someone who can make it but I need a picture so they will know excactly what I am talking about. Does anyone have one they could take a picture of or know where I can find a picture? Thanks
i used a regular 2" reciever hitch. the d-ring pin fits thru the hole fine

Ya know I have been sitting here thinking about how I could mount one and that never even crossed my mind DUH I may just have to try that idea. Is there anyone local that sells those shackles?
If I cant find just a shackle I might go ahead and buy that one from quadratec that looks like a pretty good price considering a receiver will probably be around $20.
you local co-op should have some shackles i got my twisted shackles from the one in canton for like $15!
you can just slide the hoop end of a tow strap into an empty rec. hitch and put a pin through it......waa-laa!!

Yep. What he said. Save your money. You are better off spending the $25 on a loop-ended strap. All you need is a pin for your receiver. You can pick one of them up for a few bucks at Wal*Mart.
15 dollars at A C E bolt and screw. I have bought sevvvvveral of them. there is a diff in a clevis and a shackle, though. a shackle screws into the ring and a clevis has a nut. I think. and a D-ring is completely different.
Go to Camper City in Hattiesburg. I got 2 WARN shackles for 9.99 each i think. I was there a couple weeks ago and they had one on the shelf.
