my buddy wants to put a set of those in his heep yj, what vehicles should i look in to find them?

do those even come as a combo? or where there 44's front and rear?

pre 1980 f150s came with hp44 front a 9" rear. but the 78-79's had cast on radius arm mounts and they won't work. the earlier ones had welded on radius arm mounts that can be cut off and spring perches welded on. or he could use an f250 housing which are leaf sprung then use the f150 outer so the lug patterns match. or he could get lucky and find a pair of early bronco axles which are about the same width as his stock ones.
