Yeah, over at Howard Industries in Ellisville. I hear there is a high absentee rate at Sanderson Farms as a result.

About half of our workers didn't show up today, and didn't even bother to come get their checks in fear they would get caught... all the while I'm dying laughing because they swore up and down they were legal while they were working there

We are missing about 5. They may be legal, but trying to help their buddies. (Yeah, right.)

I dont mind anyone working to better themselves as long as its LEGAL!!! You think this big bust will get the ball rolling for other employers to really crack down on their hiring process and stop these illegal leaches of our economy from taking jobs from those of us who want to work but are being pushed aside for cheaper labor?

Nothing will stop it until they start putting those "EMPLOYERS" in the bed and breakfast for hiring them. The ones working know they are breaking the law and just don't care. The impact would be if the ones that really care about getting caught and doing time, get locked up for a while.
There wouldn't be a problem if there was no one that would hire the illegals out of fear of getting jailed or fined heavily. If the fines were stiff enough, they wouldn't be doing themselves any good by paying fines that offset the money saved from hiring the cheap labor.

Completely agree. So many Employers do it. It is crap. Until the Gov. starts fining them and making them answer for having Aliens working for them. It is never going to change.

So a question I have now is... Where do each of the presidential canidates stand as far as this issue? I have not heard much about their views on it. I agree we need some serious fines and jail time for employers who are caught hiring illegals. Not to mention the alien being deported.

This is what I found w/ a quick google search. Obama has all his views on his webpage... All I found for McCain was a bunch of random webpages w/ argumentative responses and interviews.
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/immigration/
http://www.ontheissues.org/celeb/John_Mc...ration.htm
These votes by McCain stood out to me while scanning the article:
*Voted YES on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.
*Voted YES on giving Guest Workers a path to citizenship.
*Voted YES on allowing more foreign workers into the US for farm work.
*Voted YES on building a fence along the Mexican border.
