i have corel draw x3 and corel photo-paint x3 on my laptop and want to put it on my desktop.. how do i go about doing this. i dont have the original software and it is an expensive program. dont want to have to buy it again! ha. thanks guys!
Can you burn it to a data disk from program files on your laptop? If you can, just use the laptop computer name on the desktop when it loads, it it asks you for a name. If it's protected and you put in another computer name, it won't allow it. You'll probably get some more ideas from the computer gurus on here. I'm not one.
If you're moving it from your desktop to laptop, copying the files to disk may (but most likely won't) work, as that method doesn't create the registry entries necessary for the program to run. If you're not super computer-savvy, the best plan is probably to call or email Corel for assistance. They'll likely hit for $15 if you call. If you've got a registered product & tell them you need to move the program to a new computer, they'll probably give you a website from which you can download the executable and directions to reinstall the program. If you didn't register the software on your old computer, you may be SOL, but they may help you anyway.
Hope that helped.....
use a jump drive to save a short cut to.
Buy a Mac and you can easily move apps from one Mac to another...
Or if you have to use Windows I would find a .exe file of what you have from a torrent site and then use the key that you have paid for legally to install it.
Do you still have the original keys for the products?
nope, dont have it registered and dont have the keys.. i was hoping it would be as simple as burning a Disc and putting it in on the new comp and downloading it.. guess im stuck with it on the laptop..

It's just too easy with a Mac.
Unless you can find every file that program has edited for its use on the laptop then no you can't just move it. I am not familiar with the program, but maybe it has the liscense and serial number in the about section of he program. See if that is there. If that is we can do something.
