I am looking at a sas in my 99 ford ranger does anyone have ideas. I know i can use the front axle out of a early bronco, what else besides the dana 30 have a driver side drop?
wagoneer dana 44. dana 44 out of a 70's f150. ford dana 60. all of these will have a different lug pattern from your current rear axle
i used a waggy axle when i did my frontier!
I have heard that the dana 44 doesnt hold up to abuse very good.?
i thought ford ranger was 5x4.5?

anyways i have seen a couple 30's swapped in and u can run a 35 tire on it which i think looks great on the ranger!
rangers are 5 on 4.5. dana 30 is the only swap that is the same lug pattern as your current rear axle. a dana 44 will hold up to some abuse as long as you don't try to run too big of a tire. 37's and down should be ok
Waggy D44 has a 6 -5.5" BC. You would need different wheels.
just get a set of ford knuckles sprindles and hubs and the bolt problem is solved!
ford stuff is 5 on 5.5"
but could get 5 on 4.5" to 5 on 5.5" wheel spacers/adapters to convert the rear to match
but you don't want to use the ford knuckles if you want to go hi-steer. the waggy knuckles should be flattops. they just need to me milled and drilled for the studs. then you use waggy spindle and ford rotors
