My brother and I started a bumper for my toyota this weekend. we started with a 10ft stick of 5" C-channel and just bent it around to fit. I am very pleased so far with the fit of the bumper. He made some more braces today for more strength on the outsides. I just gotta get some plate steel to put on the top......Any body got any layin around they wanna get rid of?
Oh and i know it is gonna be very heavy. hopefully uncle sam will be paying for me a 2-3" lift from OME to correct the extra weight problem.

Nice looking bumper!!! Oh, and heavy = doesn't bend!!! Keep posting pics.
what tires are those, co-ops?
I will post some more pics when we get some more progress done

And ya sorta...jimmy, I wish they were co-ops but they're just buckshot wide mudders. basically the same thing though
Lookin good so I'm watchin! I need to build a bumper for my forunna pretty soon...
Looking Like Good Progress
T Smith in your sig it says 3" susp. lift...which lift are you running and how does it ride? mine is riding about an inch from the bumpstops before this bumper so its really gonna ride like a log truck. I would like to find a cheaper option than an OME lift if possible but i want it to be a smooth ride.
Mine has a 3" superlift kit and rides like crap. The front springs are OK but in the rear I have the add a leafs and 2" blocks because the add a leafs alone weren't enough lift. The add a leafs are STIFF! I suspect the system with the rear springs instead of the add a leafs would ride pretty decent. I hear good stuff about OME. There's lots of stuff you can do with Chevy or Ford rear springs and putting the Yota rears up front but that requires fab work and trial and error swapping leaves around and all, plus I've gotten lazy and at the time wanted instant gratification, maybe later. If you want we can meet up sometime and you can check it out and go for a spin.....
Looking good so far. Smile
for your lift id put the 63" chebys in the rear and put your rears up front. 3 inches with that setup and TONS im mean TONNNNNSSS of flex
