whats the difference between a dana 44 out of an early model bronco, vs a dana 44 out of a jeep wagoneer?. the reason i ask is everyone i see do a SAS uses the waggy 44 but i found a cheap one out of a bronco, both are drivers droop but the bronco looks a lil more centered. could i use this instead of a waggy axle, what are the differences???
What is the lug pattern? The waggy matches the Nissan. Not sure about the other.
i think the bronco is a high pinion and a 5 lug but the knuckles and spindles can be changed out for the 6 lug. if you can find a branco axle i would use that!
EB axle are a bit narrower as well. I think the waggy axle is 53" and the EB is 52"
if you put chevy knuckles on it you get 3/4in on each side also!
nevermind i guess..........found a waggy for $175, it doesnt have locking hubs, so does this mean all-time 4wd stock. im guessing adding the warn lockouts should be an easy install
that means it has vacuum disconect and two piece shafts you dont want it!
Matt I might trade for a early 44 or at least have some of the parts you will need to make it work.
What year Waggy is it out of? Being drivers side drop and no hubs it could be out of an early Waggy with quadra trac full time and you can put locking hubs on them. If it has leaf spring perches I bet that's what it is, if it's set up for coils and links it's later model with the vacuum disconnect.
havent saw it yet, guy at work is buddy with the guy that has it, so i dont know much yet, he told me about it at quittin time, ill know more tomorrow
