Seafoam's another good idea, and I doubt it could hurt, induce 1/3 can into manifold via vacuum hose from brake booster & the other two thirds into the gas tank, AFTER the fuel filter replacement.
It does sound a lot like fuel delivery issues. Fuel pump swaps aren't bad on those though. Easiest way I have found is to remove the bed bolts on the driver's side, loosen the ones on the passenger side. Disco the fuel filler and vent hoses, then jack up the driver's side of the bed so you have room to work without dropping the tank.

I would get a fuel pressure gauge on it first before throwing parts at it.

Fixed. It was the fuel pump.
