OK. I've got a friend at work with a Tacoma he wants to do a little work to. He's looking at maybe a mild (inexpensive) lift with +1 or +2 tires and prolly a nice winch bumper. Anybody got any good links or vendors they recommend? It's his DD and deer, I mean BEER camp truck, so nothing too crazy.
For a lift I would look at
http://www.toyteclifts.com, WRF would probably be the best way to go for a bumper because everything they (mainly ARB) make for a Tacoma is too expensive for what you get. Make sure when he orders rims that he talks to someone who knows what they are talking about or that he does some research because there are certain wheels that will and will not fit. What year is his Tacoma?
It's a 2000, and I had already considered WRF for the bumper.
With 3" of lift the biggest he can squeeze in there will be 285/75/16 or 285/70/17 and they are gonna rub still his best bet is to run 3" of lift and some 32x11.50x15 on some 15x8 wheels with no more than 4" of backspacing. I have had the best luck with Eagle Wheels mainly series 589, 101, 102, 186, 187.
Here is a picture of my 04 D-cab with a similar setup.
