I have an 1998 chevy 1500 4wheeldrive. It has a 5 speed trans and almost 200thousand miles.(195,498) And it has been rode very hard and snatched on a BUNCH. Any way tha trans is making a rattling noise and whine going down tha rode. Any way to make it last atleast till i gett outta school this year and gett a new one or something?

bearings , I rebuilt one out of a 94 model that did pretty much the samething before it locked down
Dont say that its all i have to drive and a new one is $2,000 dang dollars!
it can be rebuilt A LOT cheaper than that, or a you pull it yard for another one
I'm Not very sure what im going to do!
call Lamar Auto Salvage and see what they want for a used one 601-705-0010
sounds like throw out bearing, might as well change the clutch while your in there
